Amsterdam-based architect and designer Rik Frans Jansen presented PLATFORM, a new bed in stainless steel and aluminium, at GOOD SELECTION, an exhibition organised by designer Lucas Zito during Paris Design Week 2026. We partnered up with Rik to dress his design as his bedding partner.
PLATFORM measures 250 × 220 × 50 cm. Conceived as a small piece of architecture, it consists of an aluminium structure clad in stainless steel. The platform raises the bed from the floor and sets it apart within the room, giving it its own spatial presence. Its cold, rigid metal surfaces further accentuate the softness of the bedding. PLATFORM is available to order.
Jansen invited us to provide the bedding for the presentation. The bed was dressed in our 600-thread-count cotton sateen in Ashen Stone and Concrete Blue, made from extra-long-staple Egyptian cotton. The two colours were selected to echo the tones of the steel.
“For me, the soft, gentle drape of the cotton sateen was the perfect complement to the harsh, rigid design of the PLATFORM bed,” says Rik Frans Jansen. “It is a collaboration in which material, colour and feel complement and elevate one another.”
“The bed has always been more than a surface to dress for Brut. We see it as a room within the room—an intimate form of architecture,” says Salah Chahin, founder of Brut Studios.
“PLATFORM gave us the opportunity to place that idea in conversation with an object that has such a strong structure and material presence.”
